The Cotton Tree is a budget hotel located in Khon Kaen Province, Northeast Thailand (Isaan). Given its proximity to several educational institutions, the front of the development features a large banquet hall. The central area consists of the reception and a courtyard that seamlessly connects to the guest room building at the rear.
The core concept is to incorporate Isaan culture to establish a unique identity for the project. The roof design draws inspiration from traditional Isaan triangular pillows. The interiors utilize local fabric and basketry (weaving). Furthermore, the space incorporates graphic decorations that play with local patterns and traditional folk wisdom sayings (proverbs), achieving a seamless integration of modern life and historical roots.
