The name “Shann” is rooted in the Chinese word for “Mountain” (山), representing strength and presence, as well as the Sanskrit tradition symbolizing “Wisdom and Contemplation.”
The Shann is situated on a gently sloped hillside in Cherng talay, Phuket, embraced by pristine natural surroundings. The architecture is thoughtfully designed to blend seamlessly into the topography. Adopting the concept of Organic Modern Luxury, the development integrates the raw energy of nature directly into the living spaces.
The fluid, curved rooflines draw inspiration from the natural contours of the mountain ridges and ocean waves. Beyond their aesthetic elegance, these sweeping roofs facilitate natural ventilation and create uninterrupted visual connections to the surrounding vistas.
A signature highlight of the design is the cascading waterfall feature positioned right outside the master bedroom. The gentle sound and sight of water flowing into the pool create a rich sensory experience—providing a cooling effect and a healing atmosphere that promotes deep relaxation.
The building masses are arranged in a stepped, terraced layout that follows the slope of the hill, ensuring every unit enjoys open, unobstructed views while capturing natural light and sea breezes throughout the day.
Material selection centers on Natural & Tactile Materials that evoke warmth. Warm wood tones—featured in timber louvers and curved wooden ceilings—effortlessly link the outdoors with the interiors. Textured tiles and natural stone in slate-grey and beige hues mimic rugged mountain rock faces, while fish-scale tiles and organic wall textures in the bathrooms and key spaces enhance the play of light and shadow.
